Inter Milan forward Romelu Lukaku has slammed the makers of FIFA21, going on a twitter rant after he was downgraded by one percentage point.
A favourable rating on the football video game has become highly coveted among top footballers, with many taking it as an appreciation of their talents.
EA Sports finally unveiled the highly-anticipated ratings on Thursday, with Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi taking top spot.
While he was given a reasonable high rating of 85, the Inter Milan forward was not happy at the downgrade, highlighting his frustration on Twitter.
“Let’s be honest FIFA just mess with the ratings so we players start complaining about the game and give them more publicity. I ain’t with this s***. I know what I do,” he tweeted.
Despite a stellar season, Lukaku was ranked behind Jamie Vardy, Jordan Henderson and Juventus Paulo Dybala.
The Belgian striker bagged 23 goals in 36 games, as his club finishing second in the league standings with just one point below Juventus.
Lukaku was not the only one to be downgraded, with Barcelona’s Lionel Messi receiving a 93 rating, lesser than his FIFA20 rating, despite topping the list.
He was followed by Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo (92), Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski (91), Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne (91) and Paris Saint Germain’s Neymar (91).
