Gareth Bale will undergo a month-long intense training programme on his return to Tottenham as the Welshman looks to regain fitness after another injury plagued season in Madrid.
Bale is set to make a sensational return to Tottenham after falling out of favor with Madrid gaffer Zinedine Zidane.
The Welsh international reportedly had his medical in Madrid on Thursday, placing him on the brink of a return to Tottenham, where he became a fan favourite after scoring 56 goals and provided 58 assists in 203 appearances.
Fitness issues have however, thrown a cloud over the move, with ESPN reporting that Spurs coach Jose Mourinho had been advised that Bale might be a poor signing given his lengthy history of injuries.
According to the DailyMail, club medics estimate that it will take at least a month before Bale is in good enough shape to start for Spurs.
Bale arrived in London on Friday ahead of his official return to Tottenham.
The Welshman was given a rousing welcome into the Spurs training ground ahead of his loan move being confirmed.
Bale will rejoin Tottenham on a season-long loan deal with an option of a further year.
Spurs are set to pay 40% of Bale’s wages.
