Federico Chiesa has cast fresh doubt over his Liverpool future after admitting he could leave Anfield this summer in search of regular first-team football.
The Italian international revealed that a potential January exit was blocked by Liverpool and former manager Arne Slot, despite his frustration over limited playing opportunities. Chiesa says he now plans to hold talks with new head coach Andoni Iraola before deciding what comes next.
Chiesa arrived from Juventus in 2024 with high expectations but struggled to establish himself in the starting lineup. Last season he started just one Premier League match and found opportunities difficult to come by as Liverpool battled injuries and squad shortages.
Speaking to Italian media, the 28-year-old explained that Liverpool refused to sanction a January departure because the squad was stretched by injuries and international absences.

Despite the uncertainty, Chiesa insisted he still has a strong relationship with Liverpool and appreciates the opportunity he was given at the club. He was part of the squad that won the Premier League title and has repeatedly spoken positively about his time on Merseyside.
