Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal to sign Omar Marmoush from Manchester City, putting the Egypt international on course to become the second City attacker to move to Spurs this summer.
The 27-year-old is set to undergo a medical before completing an initial loan move to Tottenham, with the agreement containing an obligation to make the transfer permanent for up to £60 million.
Sky Sports News reports that the permanent fee is structured as a guaranteed £50 million payment plus a further £10 million in potential bonuses.
Marmoush set for Tottenham medical
The agreement represents a major breakthrough following several days of negotiations between Tottenham and City.
Marmoush has been open to joining Spurs despite not actively pushing to leave the Etihad Stadium. The Guardian previously reported that City were prepared to sanction his departure as Tottenham intensified their pursuit.
The Egyptian will now undergo his medical as Spurs work through the remaining formalities before officially completing the transfer.
His arrival would follow that of former City team-mate Sávio, who completed a move to Tottenham earlier this week for an initial £75 million plus £10 million in potential add-ons.
If both deals reach their maximum values, Tottenham’s extraordinary double raid on Manchester City will be worth up to £145 million.
Frankfurt will not receive sell-on payment
Eintracht Frankfurt will not receive a percentage of City’s £60 million deal with Tottenham, despite reports suggesting the Bundesliga club had negotiated a sell-on clause when Marmoush moved to Manchester.
Sky Sports News understands there is no such provision in the agreement between City and Frankfurt.
Marmoush joined City from Frankfurt in January 2025 in a deal worth an initial £59 million, with additional bonuses potentially taking the package higher.
Frankfurt received the guaranteed amount they wanted at the time, along with subsequent bonus payments.
There were also very few instalments included in the original transfer structure, meaning City’s financial obligations to Frankfurt have now been fulfilled. The German club therefore has no entitlement to a share of the money City could receive from Tottenham.
Spurs continue huge summer rebuild
Marmoush would become another major addition to Roberto De Zerbi’s extensively rebuilt Tottenham squad.
The forward offers considerable versatility across the attacking line and enjoyed an outstanding first half of the 2024-25 campaign with Frankfurt before City brought him to the Premier League.
He scored 22 goals in 57 appearances for Manchester City following his arrival, while also contributing nine assists.
Marmoush was part of City’s squad for Sunday’s 2-1 Premier League victory over Bournemouth but remained an unused substitute.
His departure would continue a significant reshaping of City’s squad under Enzo Maresca, while giving Tottenham another proven attacking option alongside Sávio.
Provided the medical and final paperwork are successfully completed, Marmoush will become the latest major signing in an extraordinary summer of spending in north London.
