Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Bradley Barcola in a blockbuster deal that could be worth around £120 million, putting the France international on the brink of a move to Anfield.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reported on Thursday that the clubs have struck an agreement, with Liverpool paying an initial fee of around £100 million plus add-ons. The total package could rise to approximately €140 million. Documents are expected to be exchanged within 24 hours as the clubs work towards completing the transfer.
Sky Sports separately reports that Liverpool and PSG have reached an agreement in principle worth £120 million. While the transfer has not yet been formally completed and some final details remain under discussion, the breakthrough represents a decisive step towards Barcola becoming a Liverpool player.
Liverpool finally break PSG resistance
Barcola has been one of Liverpool’s priority targets throughout the summer, but PSG’s valuation had presented a major obstacle.
The French champions had previously been demanding around £145 million for the 23-year-old. Negotiations accelerated on Wednesday night, however, and the clubs ultimately found common ground on a substantially lower package.
The Guardian reports that Liverpool have agreed to pay just over £100 million guaranteed, with performance-related add-ons potentially taking the overall value to around £120 million.
The Times has also reported a £120 million agreement, with Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes and Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon involved in the negotiations.
Romano subsequently delivered his trademark “Here we go” confirmation, reporting that the transfer is now moving towards the exchange of documents.

Iraola hoping for ‘good news soon’
Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola stopped short of discussing Barcola directly on Thursday because the Frenchman remains a PSG player, but confirmed the club are working to strengthen their wide attacking options.
“As you know, we are trying to sign in that position. We can’t talk about players who right now aren’t ours, but we are trying to improve and fill that position as we don’t have the numbers,” Iraola said.
“I hope we have good news soon but we are still not there.”
Liverpool have been seeking attacking reinforcements following Mohamed Salah’s departure, while injuries have further reduced Iraola’s options.
Barcola set for huge Anfield switch
Barcola joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 for a reported €45 million and has since developed into a major attacking figure for the French champions.
He has registered 39 goals and 37 assists in 152 appearances for PSG and was part of their back-to-back Champions League-winning squads.
The winger also impressed for France during the 2026 World Cup, scoring three goals during the tournament.
His prospective arrival could also have consequences for Liverpool’s existing attacking options, with Cody Gakpo attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.
For now, Barcola remains a PSG player and Liverpool have not officially announced his signing. But with an agreement in principle reached, a fee broadly settled and paperwork expected to follow, one of the biggest transfers of the summer is now firmly in its final stages.
