Liverpool and Arsenal could be set for a major transfer battle after fresh indications emerged that Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola may become available this summer.

The France international has established himself as one of Europe’s most exciting young attackers since arriving at PSG from Lyon in 2023.

Barcola has enjoyed an impressive rise in Paris, contributing 39 goals and 37 assists in 152 appearances while helping PSG maintain their status among Europe’s elite clubs.

His performances have not gone unnoticed.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal have been closely monitoring the 23-year-old, with the Premier League giants eager to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.

Liverpool are understood to view Barcola as a potential long-term successor to Mohamed Salah, while Arsenal continue their search for a top-class left-sided attacker to bolster Mikel Arteta’s frontline.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now added fresh fuel to the speculation.

Earlier this month, Romano revealed that several clubs were expected to explore a move for Barcola during the transfer window, naming Liverpool and Arsenal among the interested parties.

The Italian journalist has since revisited those claims, a development that many observers believe signals increasing activity behind the scenes regarding the winger’s future.

Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg has also highlighted Arsenal’s admiration for the Frenchman.

According to previous reports, the Gunners have gathered extensive information on Barcola as they assess options for the left wing position.

Liverpool are also continuing to track the situation closely.

Barcola enjoyed another productive campaign last season, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.

His versatility is another major attraction. While primarily deployed on the left wing, the French attacker is equally capable of operating on the opposite flank or through the centre as a striker.

That flexibility has helped make him one of the most sought-after attacking talents in Europe.

Any deal would likely require a significant financial commitment.

Reports have previously suggested that PSG could demand around €100 million (£86 million) before considering the sale of one of their most valuable assets.

For Arsenal, Barcola could emerge as a potential replacement should uncertainty surrounding Gabriel Martinelli’s future continue.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are weighing up multiple options as they prepare for life after Salah and continue to monitor RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande alongside Barcola.

The French international is currently focused on the World Cup with Les Bleus, meaning any transfer developments may have to wait until after the tournament.

However, with two Premier League heavyweights circling and fresh hints suggesting movement behind the scenes, Barcola’s future is becoming one of the most intriguing stories of the summer transfer window.
