Morgan Rogers has reportedly made Arsenal his preferred destination this summer, handing Mikel Arteta a significant boost as the Premier League champions continue their search for attacking reinforcements.

The Aston Villa star has emerged as one of the most sought-after players in England following a superb campaign that helped Villa secure Champions League football and lift the Europa League.

Now, reports suggest the 23-year-old is eager to make the move to north London if Arsenal can agree a deal with his current club.

Arsenal are expected to strengthen several areas of their squad during the transfer window, with attacking additions remaining a priority despite their dominant title-winning season.

While much of the focus has been on potential moves for a striker and a left winger, the club are also exploring options in attacking midfield and wide positions.

Rogers remains high on that shortlist.

The England international enjoyed a breakthrough season under Unai Emery, contributing 10 goals and seven assists in the Premier League while establishing himself as one of the division’s most exciting attacking talents.

His performances have also boosted his standing with the national team, where he is expected to play an important role during England’s World Cup campaign.

According to reports, Rogers has now informed senior figures at Aston Villa of his desire to leave if the right opportunity arises.

The player is said to be particularly attracted by Arteta’s long-term project and the role Arsenal have outlined for him.

Sources claim personal terms would not be an obstacle, with discussions already having taken place regarding a potential move.

While Arsenal have not yet made an official approach to Aston Villa, it is believed informal lines of communication remain open between the two clubs.

The biggest challenge is likely to be the transfer fee.

Villa’s qualification for next season’s Champions League has strengthened their financial position and reduced any pressure to sell key players.

As a result, Arsenal would likely need to submit a substantial offer to convince Villa to part with one of their most valuable assets.

Rogers is not the only player under consideration.

Reports suggest sporting director Andrea Berta is exploring several midfield and attacking options, including Lille youngster Ayyoub Bouaddi, Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott, Malick Kone and Hugo Larsson among others.

Arsenal are also continuing to monitor Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis, although interest in the Greek international is not believed to affect their pursuit of Rogers.

The Gunners have additionally been linked with Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as Arteta looks to add more creativity and depth to his title-winning squad.

Despite the growing list of targets, Rogers remains one of Arsenal’s standout options.

The player’s reported enthusiasm for the move could prove crucial if negotiations between the clubs intensify later in the summer.

For now, Arsenal’s interest remains active, Rogers appears fully convinced by the project, and the focus shifts to whether the Premier League champions are willing to meet Aston Villa’s demands.

If they do, one of England’s brightest emerging stars could soon be heading to the Emirates Stadium.
