Manchester City have completed the signing of teenage winger Jeremy Monga from Leicester City after agreeing a deal worth £10 million plus performance-related add-ons for one of England’s most exciting young prospects.

The England Under-19 international, who celebrated his 17th birthday on Friday, has committed his future to the Premier League champions by signing a five-year contract that runs until the summer of 2031.

Monga arrives at the Etihad after making a rapid rise through Leicester’s academy and first team. He broke into senior football at just 15 years old, becoming the third-youngest player in Premier League history when he made his debut against Newcastle United in April 2025 at the age of 15 years and 271 days. He is also Leicester City’s second-youngest debutant.

During the 2025/26 campaign, the winger featured 30 times in all competitions, scoring once and providing two assists. Across his senior career with the Foxes, he made 37 first-team appearances, including seven outings in the Premier League.

Speaking after completing the move, Monga described joining Manchester City as an easy decision once he learned of the club’s interest.

The teenager said becoming part of City was “a dream come true” and highlighted the club’s record of developing academy graduates into first-team stars. He pointed to players such as Phil Foden and Nico O’Reilly as examples of the pathway available to young talent and said he was delighted to begin the next chapter of his career.

Monga becomes the third English player to join City’s first-team squad this summer under new head coach Enzo Maresca, following the arrivals of goalkeeper Pierce Charles and midfielder Elliot Anderson, whose £116 million transfer set a new club record.

Manchester City’s director of football, Hugo Viana, welcomed the youngster to the club, describing him as one of the country’s most promising talents.

Viana said City had closely monitored Monga’s progress during his time at Leicester and believes the winger has significant room for development. He added that the club is looking forward to supporting his growth as he continues his football journey.

Monga had attracted interest from several leading clubs before choosing the reigning Premier League champions, with City ultimately winning the race for one of English football’s most sought-after teenage prospects.
