Richarlison has agreed personal terms with Trabzonspor as the Turkish giants step up efforts to prise the Brazil international away from Tottenham Hotspur just days after the English transfer window closed.
The 29-year-old has given the green light to a move to Turkey, where he has reportedly been offered a salary worth around three times his current Tottenham wages. Trabzonspor have made Richarlison their priority attacking target and are preparing another offer after Spurs rejected two bids.
The first proposal was worth £15 million before Trabzonspor returned with an improved £20m offer. Tottenham rejected both, meaning there is currently no club-to-club agreement, despite Richarlison accepting the personal terms on offer.
Trabzonspor prepare third Richarlison bid
Trabzonspor still have time to negotiate because the Turkish transfer window remains open until Friday, September 4.
A fresh proposal is expected as the Super Lig side attempt to find a figure acceptable to Tottenham.
Richarlison is understood to be keen on making the move. Turkish reports claim the Brazilian has reached a verbal agreement with Trabzonspor and wants Spurs to sanction his departure.
Trabzonspor’s ambition is significant. The club have already recruited former Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah this summer and now want Richarlison to strengthen their attacking options further.
However, Tottenham’s rejection of £20m suggests Trabzonspor will have to substantially improve their offer.
Richarlison wants Tottenham exit
Richarlison’s future has become increasingly uncertain under Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi.
De Zerbi revealed last weekend that Richarlison had asked to leave the club, along with Kevin Danso and Pape Matar Sarr.
Danso subsequently joined Sunderland, while Sarr completed a move to Juventus. Richarlison remained in north London when the Premier League window closed, but Turkey now provides him with another route out.
The striker has entered the final year of his Tottenham contract, although Spurs have an option to extend the agreement for another season.
He joined Tottenham from Everton in 2022 in a deal worth up to £60m and has since scored 32 goals in 134 appearances.
Everton return collapsed on deadline day
Richarlison had looked increasingly likely to leave Tottenham before Monday’s deadline when Everton attempted to bring their former striker back to Merseyside.
Everton and Tottenham held advanced discussions over a £35m Richarlison transfer while Spurs were simultaneously pursuing Iliman Ndiaye in a potential £60m move in the opposite direction.
Neither transfer ultimately happened.
Richarlison subsequently expressed his frustration on social media, making clear that he wanted greater control over decisions surrounding his career.
Trabzonspor have now offered him another opportunity to leave north London.
The player has agreed terms, but the decisive negotiations are still between the clubs. With £15m and £20m offers already rejected, attention now turns to how far Trabzonspor are prepared to go with their anticipated third bid.
