Ismaïla Sarr is considering a new contract offer from Crystal Palace as Manchester United continue to monitor the Senegal international ahead of the January transfer window.
TEAMtalk reports that Sarr’s representatives are satisfied with the terms proposed by Palace, although the 28-year-old has yet to sign the agreement as he assesses his options.
Palace are not facing an immediate contractual deadline. Sarr joined from Marseille on a five-year deal in August 2024, tying him to the Selhurst Park club until 2029.
The proposed extension would nevertheless reward his growing importance to the team while giving Palace greater protection against mounting interest from elsewhere.
Palace rejected summer approach for Sarr
Sarr was open to leaving Palace during the summer transfer window, with Galatasaray making a serious attempt to take him to Turkey.
Palace rejected an offer reportedly worth about £26million and refused to sanction his departure. Liverpool also explored a possible move, but no transfer was agreed.
Sarr has since been reintegrated into the first team, and Palace hope their new contract proposal will persuade him to commit his long-term future to the club.
His performances have increased his value significantly since his arrival from Marseille. He was named Palace’s Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season for the 2025/26 campaign.

Manchester United monitoring Sarr
Manchester United are reportedly among several Premier League clubs watching developments.
The Old Trafford hierarchy are said to admire Sarr’s versatility. Although most comfortable operating from a wide position, he can also play centrally and has previously performed that role for Senegal.
United are assessing potential additions to their attack ahead of January, but there has been no reported formal bid or direct approach to Palace.
Newcastle United and Sunderland have also been credited with interest, while Galatasaray and clubs in the Saudi Pro League could provide alternatives should Sarr decide against extending his Palace contract.
Despite the growing list of potential suitors, Palace remain in a strong negotiating position because Sarr’s existing deal still has almost three years remaining.
The decision therefore rests primarily with the player. Signing the extension would settle questions surrounding his future, while leaving it unsigned could encourage interested clubs to test Palace’s resolve in January or next summer.
