Arsenal have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko after the towering 6ft 5in Slovenian snubbed a big money move Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

According to reports Al-Hilal made an approach for the 22-year-old Bundesliga talent ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup that starts at the weekend but he made it clear he wants to join Arsenal.

Sesko bagged 39 goals in 87 games for Leipzig after joining them two years ago from sister club Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Although a plethora of clubs have expressed an interest in signing him its believed Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has done a lot of ground work to secure his signature.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that the exit fee is set at between €80m and €100m (£67m to £84m / $90m to $113m) which fluctuates depending on when it is triggered and how he performed for Leipzig in the just ended season.

“I have a very good feeling on Sesko moving to Arsenal. Meetings have already taken place. RB Leipzig are expecting the first offer from Arsenal for Benjamin Sesko next week,” Plettenberg reported on Sunday.
