Manchester United are reportedly weighing the option of extending Casemiro’s contract beyond this season, though this would hinge on the Brazilian accepting a wage reduction.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, the club is focused on trimming its wage bill after the exits of several high-earning players.
The report says despite Casemiro’s hefty £375,000-per-week salary, United view him as an influential figure who can contribute significantly in the years ahead.
The Old Trafford side holds the option to extend the midfielder’s contract by an additional 12 months, keeping him at the club until June 2027.
Casemiro has become a crucial part of the team, particularly under manager Ruben Amorim, who has faced increasing pressure this season.
