Tottenham Hotspur have received fresh encouragement in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy after the player’s representative dismissed reports claiming a move to Turkey had already been agreed.

Spurs are expected to prioritise attacking reinforcements this summer following another disappointing Premier League campaign that exposed serious shortcomings in front of goal.

The North London side managed just 48 league goals last season and are actively exploring options to strengthen their forward line as Roberto De Zerbi begins reshaping his squad.

Questions remain over the futures of several current attackers.

Richarlison ended the season as Tottenham’s leading scorer but his return of 12 goals in 43 appearances has done little to silence speculation over a possible departure. Meanwhile, concerns continue regarding Dominic Solanke’s fitness record after the striker endured an injury-disrupted spell following his move from Bournemouth.

As a result, signing a proven goalscorer has become one of Tottenham’s main objectives.

Guirassy has emerged as a leading candidate.

Recent reports suggested the Guinea international had already agreed a move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce despite still having two years remaining on his Borussia Dortmund contract.

However, those claims have now been strongly denied.

Speaking to journalist Patrick Berger, Guirassy’s brother and agent, Karamba Guirassy, insisted no agreement has been reached with any club.

“To clarify: no agreement of any kind has been reached,” he said.

“Serhou is currently evaluating his options for next season. Any claim of a verbal deal is simply not true.”

The comments have reignited speculation surrounding the striker’s future and opened the door for interested clubs to make their move.

Tottenham have admired Guirassy for some time and were linked with him before he joined Borussia Dortmund from Stuttgart in 2024.

The 30-year-old has established himself as one of Europe’s most reliable goalscorers over the past two seasons.

After netting 38 goals during his debut campaign at Dortmund, he followed that up with another impressive season, scoring 22 times across all competitions.

Overall, Guirassy has produced 60 goals and 15 assists in 96 appearances for the Bundesliga club, numbers that have attracted attention from across Europe.

Tottenham are not alone in monitoring the situation.

Chelsea have reportedly made contact regarding a potential move, while Arsenal and Manchester United have previously been credited with interest. AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are also believed to be tracking developments closely.

With so many clubs searching for a proven striker this summer, competition for Guirassy’s signature is expected to be fierce.

For Tottenham, however, the latest update represents a significant boost.

The collapse of rumours linking the forward to Fenerbahce means one of Europe’s most prolific attackers remains available, potentially giving Spurs the opportunity to land the clinical goalscorer they desperately need.
