Real Madrid are reportedly preparing an ambitious move for Bayern Munich star Michael Olise as the Spanish giants continue their aggressive squad rebuild under José Mourinho.
The French winger has emerged as one of Madrid’s top attacking targets despite Bayern Munich’s repeated insistence that he is not for sale. Reports from Spain suggest Los Blancos are willing to test the German club’s resolve with a massive offer that could exceed €200 million.
Madrid’s interest in Olise comes after a disappointing campaign that saw the club miss out on major silverware for a second consecutive season. Determined to return to the top of European football, club president Florentino Pérez has already overseen the arrivals of Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konaté, Denzel Dumfries and Marc Cucurella as part of a major overhaul.
Now attention is turning to strengthening the attack, with Olise viewed as one of the most exciting talents in world football.
The former Crystal Palace star has enjoyed a sensational rise since joining Bayern Munich, quickly establishing himself as one of the Bundesliga’s standout performers. His creativity, dribbling ability and eye for goal have made him a key figure for both club and country, attracting admiration from several of Europe’s elite clubs.
Despite the growing speculation, Bayern’s hierarchy have publicly rejected any suggestion that Olise could leave.
Club president Herbert Hainer previously dismissed transfer rumours by insisting Bayern are not interested in selling one of their prized assets. Former chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge also stressed that there is no price that would tempt the German champions into parting with the winger.
Those statements have done little to discourage Madrid.
Reports in Spain claim the club still has significant funds available after previously setting aside €150 million for a marquee signing. While that amount may not be enough to tempt Bayern into negotiations, sources suggest Madrid could increase their offer beyond €200 million, with a ceiling of around €220 million if they decide to formally pursue the deal.
Such a move would place Olise among the most expensive footballers in history.
To help finance further additions, Madrid could also consider player sales. Midfielders Aurélien Tchouaméni and Federico Valverde have both been linked with possible exits, although neither player is actively being pushed towards the door.
For now, Bayern remain adamant that Olise is staying in Munich. However, with Real Madrid determined to make a statement in the transfer market and rebuild a squad capable of dominating both Spain and Europe, speculation surrounding the French winger is unlikely to disappear anytime soon.
Whether Bayern can resist one of the biggest offers ever seen in football could become one of the defining transfer stories of the summer.
