Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing to offload as many as seven players as the club looks to generate funds for more summer signings after an unprecedented spending spree.
Spurs have already broken their transfer record twice during the current window, completing the £85 million signing of Mateus Fernandes before following it up with the arrival of Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United in a deal worth up to £100 million. They have also strengthened with Jan Paul van Hecke, while Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka joined on free transfers.
According to football.london, the north London club has adopted a new transfer strategy focused on selling players at the right time and for maximum value, avoiding situations where assets lose their market worth before departing.
The report claims Tottenham have already started implementing that policy, having sold Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace in January for £35 million.
More departures are now expected as Roberto De Zerbi continues reshaping his squad.
Luka Vušković is reportedly closing in on a move to Brighton in a deal worth an initial £46 million, potentially rising by another £4 million through add-ons. Defender Radu Drăgușin is also expected to leave after agreeing a loan move to Fiorentina that includes an obligation to buy worth around £21 million, while academy graduate Alfie Devine is another player tipped to depart.
Those three exits alone could bring Spurs close to £77 million, but the club may not stop there.
Djed Spence has attracted interest from Everton, although Tottenham are not actively pushing him out. Reports suggest the club would consider offers in the region of £25 million should a suitable bid arrive.
Cristian Romero is another high-profile player whose future remains uncertain. The Argentina international has previously been linked with both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, while Spurs are believed to value him at around £50 million.
Young midfielder Lucas Bergvall could also command a similar fee amid reported interest from Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest, while goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is said to be available for approximately £20 million after Roberto De Zerbi reportedly identified Antonin Kinsky as his preferred first-choice goalkeeper.
If all seven players were sold, Tottenham could reportedly raise as much as £222 million to help fund further additions.
The club’s recruitment drive is not expected to end with Tonali and Fernandes. Spurs remain in the market for attacking reinforcements, with Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi among the reported targets.
Tottenham are also assessing several options on the wing, with Rafael Leão, Cody Gakpo, Savinho and Antonio Nusa all linked with moves to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as De Zerbi continues his ambitious rebuild.
