Harry Kane has reportedly ruled out a return to Tottenham Hotspur, dealing a setback to his former club’s hopes of bringing their record goalscorer back to north London.
Tottenham have been credited with an interest in re-signing the England captain, who left Spurs for Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023 after establishing himself as the club’s all-time leading scorer. TEAMtalk previously reported that Spurs are exploring the possibility of a reunion as they continue rebuilding under Roberto De Zerbi.
However, fresh reports from Germany suggest Kane has no intention of leaving Bayern and remains focused on extending his stay in Bavaria.
According to German journalist Christian Falk, Bayern are preparing to resume discussions over a new contract now that Kane’s involvement with England at the 2026 World Cup has come to an end. The striker had postponed talks while concentrating on international duty, but negotiations are now expected to move forward.
Falk says Kane believes Bayern offer him the strongest opportunity to achieve one of the few major honours still missing from his career — the UEFA Champions League.
The 32-year-old has already enjoyed domestic success since arriving in Germany, helping Bayern win back-to-back Bundesliga titles while continuing his prolific scoring record. He is viewed as a central figure in the club’s long-term plans, with Bayern keen to tie him down beyond his current contract, which expires in 2027.
Kane’s future has attracted speculation in recent months, with Tottenham and Real Madrid among the clubs linked with the England captain.
But Falk believes neither move is likely, insisting the striker sees Bayern as his best chance of winning Europe’s biggest club competition.
The former Tottenham star has become one of Bayern’s most influential players since his arrival in 2023. Across all competitions, he has continued his remarkable goalscoring form after leaving north London, further strengthening his status as one of Europe’s leading forwards.
While Tottenham remain interested in a future reunion, the latest indications are that Kane’s immediate focus is firmly on Bayern Munich, where contract talks are expected to gather pace following his post-World Cup break.
