Arsenal have seen an attempt to explore a move for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott turned down, as the south coast club reaffirm their determination to keep one of their brightest young talents.

The Premier League champions recently made an enquiry for the England international, but Bournemouth rejected the approach immediately, underlining that Scott is not available for transfer this summer.

Instead of considering offers, Bournemouth are preparing to reward the 22-year-old with a new contract following an outstanding campaign that helped establish him as one of the Premier League’s most exciting midfielders.

Retaining key players has become a major objective for the Cherries as they prepare for a historic season in European competition. Club officials are also keen to keep hold of other highly-rated youngsters, including Rayan and Junior Kroupi.

Scott’s performances have attracted widespread attention across England’s top flight. Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have all been credited with monitoring his progress, but Bournemouth’s stance has remained unchanged throughout the summer transfer window.

The midfielder enjoyed an excellent 2025-26 campaign, missing just one Premier League match. His only absence came on the final day of the season against Nottingham Forest because of illness as Bournemouth secured European qualification for the first time in the club’s history.

After recovering, Scott linked up with the England squad in Florida as preparations continued for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Since arriving at Bournemouth, Scott has made 89 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and contributing five assists.

With interest continuing to grow from some of England’s biggest clubs, Bournemouth remain determined to build their future around the talented midfielder rather than cashing in on one of their most valuable assets.
