West Ham United have completed the permanent signing of winger Manor Solomon from London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth up to £7 million.
The 27-year-old has agreed a three-year contract with the Hammers, with the agreement also containing an option to extend his stay for another season.
West Ham will pay Tottenham an initial £5 million, with a further £2 million potentially due in add-ons. The transfer brings Solomon’s three-year association with Spurs to an end.
The move across London gives Solomon an opportunity for a fresh start after struggling to establish himself at Tottenham.
The Israel international arrived at Spurs in the summer of 2023 after previously spending a season on loan at Fulham. However, an injury severely disrupted his first campaign in north London and limited his opportunities.
Solomon subsequently spent time away from Tottenham on loan, including a productive spell with Leeds United. He played an important role in their promotion campaign before continuing his career away from Spurs.
Despite being involved during Tottenham’s pre-season this summer, Solomon’s future remained uncertain and interest emerged from several clubs. West Ham eventually moved to secure a permanent agreement with their London rivals.
Negotiations had not been entirely straightforward. Reports earlier in the week indicated that discussions between the two clubs had encountered difficulties over the structure of the proposed deal and its bonus payments.
Those obstacles were eventually overcome, with the clubs reaching an agreement worth £5 million up front plus £2 million in potential add-ons.
Solomon now gets the chance to rebuild his career with West Ham, while Tottenham have moved on a player who had struggled for regular first-team football since arriving at the club.
His departure also continues Tottenham’s summer squad reshaping, with Spurs clearing players from their squad as they prepare for the new campaign.
