The Brazilian winger is due for a medical after Spurs agreed an initial £75m fee plus £10m in add-ons with Manchester City.

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal worth up to £85 million to sign Manchester City winger Savinho, with the Brazilian due to undergo a medical on Friday afternoon as Spurs close in on one of the biggest transfers of the summer.

Spurs will pay an initial £75 million for the 22-year-old, with another £10 million potentially due in add-ons. Of those bonuses, £5 million are understood to be effectively guaranteed, putting Manchester City in line to receive at least £80 million.

The agreement represents a major breakthrough for Tottenham, who also attempted to sign Savinho last summer without success. Reuters reported that neither club had formally commented on the agreement at the time of its report.

Savinho set for Tottenham medical

Savinho is scheduled to undergo his Tottenham medical on Friday afternoon as the north London club works towards completing the transfer.

The Brazil international’s arrival would provide another major attacking option for Spurs and continue an extraordinary summer of investment under head coach Roberto De Zerbi.

Tottenham have already spent more than £200 million on six first-team additions this summer, according to Sky Sports, while Press Association reports that the Savinho deal would push their total expenditure beyond £300 million.

Savinho made 24 Premier League appearances for City last season. He originally joined Manchester City from French club Troyes in 2024 after previously spending time on loan at PSV Eindhoven and Girona.

Spurs finally land long-term target

Tottenham’s interest in Savinho is not new. The club tried unsuccessfully to bring the Brazilian to north London ahead of the 2025-26 season before returning with another push this summer.

Earlier this week, Sky Sports reported that Savinho was ready to join Spurs while negotiations between the two Premier League clubs continued. Tottenham had identified strengthening their forward line as a priority before the transfer window closes.

The eventual agreement is significantly higher than the fee Manchester City’s ownership group paid to acquire Savinho in 2022. The Guardian reports that City Football Group bought him for £30.8 million, meaning his departure would represent a substantial return on that investment.

Tottenham also pursuing Marmoush

Savinho may not be the only Manchester City attacker heading to Tottenham.

Spurs remain in negotiations over a separate deal for Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush, with talks understood to be progressing.

Marmoush joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 for £59 million. The Guardian reports that the 27-year-old has not asked to leave City, although he has faced competition for playing time behind Erling Haaland.

For now, however, Savinho is the more advanced deal, with the £85 million package agreed and his medical scheduled as Tottenham move closer to securing their long-term target.
