Liverpool have seen a huge €100 million (£85.5m) offer for Yan Diomandé rejected by RB Leipzig, with the Bundesliga club refusing to lower their valuation of one of world football’s most sought-after young stars.

According to reports from Germany, Liverpool’s proposal was worth €90m guaranteed plus a further €10m in performance-related bonuses. However, Leipzig immediately turned down the offer as they continue to fight to keep hold of the Ivory Coast international.

The rejection underlines just how highly Leipzig rate the 21-year-old forward, who has enjoyed a sensational rise over the past 12 months and further enhanced his reputation with impressive performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Leipzig are understood to value Diomandé at around €120m and believe his price could rise even further depending on how he performs for Ivory Coast during the remainder of the tournament.

Liverpool’s interest has been driven by new head coach Andoni Iraola, who is eager to reshape the club’s attacking options as the Reds prepare for life after Mohamed Salah. Diomandé has emerged as one of the club’s priority targets thanks to his pace, versatility and ability to play across the front line.

The Merseyside club had hoped a nine-figure offer would be enough to tempt Leipzig into negotiations, but the German side remain determined to resist approaches for now.

Leipzig are also bracing themselves for increased competition in the coming weeks. Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring the situation closely and are expected to enter the race, while several other European giants have also been linked with the highly-rated attacker.

The prospect of a bidding war is likely to strengthen Leipzig’s position and could push the eventual transfer fee even higher.

Diomandé’s stock has soared since arriving in Germany, and his World Cup displays have only added to the growing belief that he is one of the most exciting young forwards in the game.

Liverpool remain interested but now face a major decision over whether they are prepared to return with an improved offer closer to Leipzig’s €120m asking price.

For now, the Bundesliga side have made their stance crystal clear: €100m is not enough.

With PSG and other elite clubs circling, Liverpool’s pursuit of Diomandé is set to become one of the biggest transfer sagas of the summer.
