Manchester United’s search for a new midfield leader has received a potential boost after reports in Spain suggested Real Madrid could be willing to listen to offers for Aurelien Tchouameni this summer.
The France international has emerged as one of the names linked with Old Trafford as United continue rebuilding their midfield following the departure of Casemiro. While several targets remain under consideration, Tchouameni is viewed as a player capable of bringing the physicality, defensive awareness and ball-winning qualities the squad has lacked in recent seasons.
According to reports in Italy and Spain, Real Madrid could be prepared to sanction the midfielder’s departure if the right offer arrives. The Spanish giants are believed to be planning another major squad rebuild and are reportedly prioritising a move for Chelsea and Argentina star Enzo Fernandez.
Any pursuit of Fernandez would likely require significant financial investment, and Tchouameni’s sale could help create both space in the squad and funds for a new arrival.
Despite the speculation, the 26-year-old is understood to be happy in Madrid and currently has no desire to leave the Santiago Bernabeu. That stance remains one of the biggest obstacles facing any potential transfer.
Tchouameni joined Real Madrid from Monaco in 2022 and has become a regular figure in the squad. During his time in Spain, he has won multiple domestic and European honours while establishing himself as one of the most respected defensive midfielders in world football.
His profile has naturally attracted interest from several clubs, but Manchester United’s need for midfield reinforcements has made them one of the teams most heavily linked with a move.
