Real Madrid have reportedly decided which midfielder they are prepared to sacrifice this summer, with new claims suggesting Eduardo Camavinga is more likely to leave than Aurélien Tchouaméni.
The Spanish giants are expected to reshape their squad following an active transfer window, and speculation has intensified over potential departures as the club looks to balance its finances while remaining open to further additions.
Tchouaméni has emerged as one of Manchester United’s top midfield targets, with the Premier League club viewing the France international as an ideal long-term successor to Casemiro. Liverpool, meanwhile, continue to be linked with fellow French midfielder Camavinga as they search for reinforcements in the middle of the park.
According to Radio Marca journalist Ramón Álvarez de Mon, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez intends to keep Tchouaméni as part of the club’s core midfield group for next season.
De Mon claims the club sees Federico Valverde, Tchouaméni, Jude Bellingham, Bernardo Silva and Arda Güler as central to José Mourinho’s plans, with Camavinga the only midfielder who could be sold if an acceptable offer arrives and the player changes his desire to remain at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Camavinga has consistently indicated he wants to stay at Real Madrid and fight for his place, making any potential transfer dependent on a change in the player’s stance.
However, there is conflicting information surrounding Tchouaméni’s future.
Journalist Dean Jones has suggested Real Madrid are becoming more receptive to offers for the 25-year-old, with reports claiming a bid of around €100 million (£85.5m) could tempt the Spanish club into negotiations. Manchester United are reportedly prepared to make a significant offer should that opportunity arise.
Camavinga, meanwhile, is believed to be available for around €50 million (£43m), a fee that would likely attract strong interest from several elite European clubs if Real Madrid formally place him on the market. Liverpool and Manchester United have both previously been credited with making contact over the midfielder’s situation.
Real Madrid’s midfield plans remain under close scrutiny as the club weighs possible departures against any further arrivals, with the futures of two of France’s brightest midfield talents expected to remain one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer.
